On a much-needed break from awards season mayhem, Hollywood’s finest flocked to New York for fashion week celebrations. A-listers like Kate Hudson, Rihanna, Rita Ora and Olivia Palermo donned striking getups for a who's who of designer shows.
Kate Hudson’s sunny spring wear at Michael Kors’s presentation was a welcome shift during the city’s record-low temperatures as the star sat front row in an off-the-shoulder knit and printed pencil skirt. Also in attendance was Olivia Palermo in a classic Kors ensemble featuring a crisp button down, A-line skirt and military-style coat with metal accents.
Singers Rita Ora and Rihanna were also among the stars who stepped out in the name of fashion. Rita took to the Tommy Hilfiger show in a retro look by the designer, including a wide-leg jean (note the contrast stitching and velvet waistband!) and fur topper, and finished it off with a combination of jewelry by Jennifer Fisher and Erickson Beamon. And Rihanna, typically known for pushing style boundaries, opted for a simple maroon frock by Zac Posen – with coordinating Manolo Blahniks – for the designer’s Monday showing.
Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson hit it out of the park for Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary celebration in a sparkling ensemble by Sonia Rykiel paired with ankle-strap sandals and a cropped pastel coat.
Willa Holland and ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ star Karla Souza both made appearances at Vanity Fair’s celebration in honour of Young Hollywood. Arrow actress Willa selected a crisp Gucci jumpsuit for the occasion, but added a smart dose of shine in the form of studded pumps and a Kotur clutch, while Karla stunned in a moody silk-chiffon skirt by Burberry, metallic sandals and drop earrings.
