The Duchess of Cambridge's pregnancy style by trimester: Then and now

Throughout her second pregnancy, the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, dazzled royal watchers with her maternity style. The 33-year-old mom has had plenty of practice in dressing her baby bump, having attended dozens of official engagements since announcing the exciting news in October.

Of course, this wasn't Kate’s first go at maternity fashion. All eyes were on the brunette beauty while she was pregnant with Prince George in 2012 and 013, with plenty of attention being paid to her wrap dresses, tweed coats and stylish accessories.

Though Kate is famous for her classic, elegant aesthetic – and isn’t one to experiment with wild fashions – there are a few notable differences in the sartorial choices she's made while expecting her second child versus her first. The second time around, the Duchess had been seen wearing (and recycling!) maternity labels like Seraphine, where she stuck to her regular brands when she was pregnant with George.

When Kate discovered what works for her, she upped the style ante. Shortly after announcing she had another bun in the oven, she made a jaw-dropping appearance at a Wildlife Photography Awards gala in November, turning heads in a baby-blue Jenny Packham gown with a shorter hemline than we are used to seeing on Kate. Compare that to 2012, when Kate first showed off her baby bump in a modest Max Mara wrap dress – same silhouette, but very different look!
