Blake Lively shows off her legs in a yellow David Koma dress

New mom Blake Lively was a ray of sunshine as she stepped out in Los Angeles on Thursday (April 16) night, taking a break from mommy duties to promote her new drama, Age of Adaline. Just four months after giving birth to her daughter James, with Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, the actress glowed on the red carpet.

Her outfit reflected her cheerful disposition, with the Gossip Girl star choosing a bright yellow dress by Georgian style maestro David Koma. The dress, which showed off Blake’s enviably toned post-baby figure, had a Swinging Sixties vibe with a retro pattern and large pockets.

The blonde beauty completed her colourful ensemble with statement turquoise earrings and a pair of black peep toe stilettos with dazzling multi-coloured bejewelled embellishments. Her long tresses were worn tumbling down in old Hollywood-esque waves, and she chose to wear almost no make-up save for a slick of pink lipstick and a hint of black eyeliner and mascara.

The American actress has been keeping a relatively low profile as she and husband Ryan adjust to parenthood, but recently opened up about her experience of becoming a mother.

“I feel like I’ve figured out the most important thing to me, and everything supports that,” she told Allure magazine. She also revealed why the couple initially chose to keep their daughter’s name a secret.

“It’s her life,” she explained. “She should have her privacy until she chooses not to have her privacy, just as I got to choose and my husband got to choose.”

However Ryan has since revealed that the baby girl’s name is in fact James, joking: “It’s Butternut Summer Squash. No it’s out there. It’s James. Everyone knows.”
