Cannes stars take their flawless style from day to night (video)

As one of the most glamorous events on the sartorial calendar, the 2015 Cannes Film Festival has stylish stars pulling double and sometimes triple duty on the fashion front, running from photocalls and press conferences to glitzy red-carpet premières at the Palais des Festivals. Naturally, festival favourites like Cate Blanchett, Diane Kruger and Charlize Theron have paraded a who's who of the world's top designers for their many daily appearances.

Charlize Theron made a showstopping appearance at the Mad Max: Fury Road première in a figure-hugging yellow Dior Couture gown alongside boyfriend Sean Penn, whom she recently told Hello! is the 'love of her life' - though this wasn't the Oscar winner's first look of the day. Earlier on, she was decidedly more rock 'n' roll in an equally striking fringed leather number by Valentino.

Costars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, the latter of whom scooped up the festival's Best Actress honours for her performance in their buzzy film, Carol, both favoured Alexander McQueen for a mid-day photocall by the sea. The two beauties raised the bar later that evening as black-tie confections by Giles (on Cate) and Olivier Theyskens (on Rooney) were the icing on the day's cake.

Festival staple Diane Kruger, who was part of the prestigious jury in 2012, may have been the talk of the town at the amfAR gala, where she wowed in a Chanel minidress with a fully feathered skirt, but she's also a shoe-in for dazzling première appearances. By day, the Maryland star continued to show off her slender stems in a powder-blue Dolce & Gabbana mini, while that evening she slipped on an eye-catching Prada gown with a high neckline and sheer, beaded fabric - also in a pale blue.

And there's plenty more where that came from! Watch our video to see 10 stars who floated seamlessly from day to night down the Promenade de la Croisette.
