The week's best celebrity style: Emma Stone, Jessica Alba, Solange Knowles and more

By Nicole Carrington

Celebrating summer in the season’s must-have looks, Hollywood has set the trend in scalloped lace, breeze frocks and easy-to-wear overalls .

Demi Lovato perfected her strut in New York City in a scalloped-lace two-piece by Sister Jane, a Saint Laurent bag and Saint Laurent’s Bianca sandals.

Elsewhere in NYC (Tribeca, to be exact), Taylor Swift met up with new boyfriend Calvin Harris in a casual, '90s-inspired look — classic black overalls paired with a cropped Topshop t-shirt , booties, and a berry coloured Gucci handbag.

Jessica Alba opted for a mixed-print Michael Kors ensemble featuring a striped button-up shirt and printed A-line skirt at a Seoul press conference honouring her baby brand, The Honest Company. The mogul — whose company got her on the cover of Forbes this week — perfected her look with a sleek lob and suede ankle strap sandals.

On the more formal end of things, Solange Knowles hosted the UK launch of Veuve Clicquot in a caped cream coloured look by Marios Schwab, which was wonderfully reminiscent of her wedding-day look, and paired perfectly with fringed Aquazzura heels. And Hailee Steinfeld went for an edge at the L.A. premiere of Barely Lethal in a racy David Koma dress and black pumps.

And a special shout-out goes to Kim Kardashian, whose off-duty look is always on point, escorting her daughter North to ballet class in a BLK Denim motorcycle jacket, distressed Metallica tee and oversized Saint Laurent sunglasses. North West also gets our thumbs up; the soon-to-be two-year-old looked cute as can be in a white leotard, tutu, and coordinating baby Balmain blazer.

Our other favourite sartorial hitmakers include Emma Stone, Sienna Miller, Chanel Iman, and Emmy Rossum, whose breezy summer styles are providing endless wardrobe inspiration. Don’t forget to let us know how you’re prepping for the new season on Facebook and Twitter!
