The week's best celebrity style: Amal Clooney, Amber Heard, Kate Bosworth and more

By Nicole Carrington

Frills and frocks reign supreme, as our stylish stars — from Bella Throne to newlywed Amber Heard — take to the streets in their most girly garbs.

At Toronto’s Much Music Video Awards, actress Bella Thorne channeled her inner siren in a textured semi-sheer design by Julien Macdonald. Elevating the cherry-red look even further, Bella kept her beauty game fresh by wearing her flaming-red locks in sophisticated waves and keeping her makeup perfectly minimal.

Out and about in Shanghai, actress Rosamund Pike opted for a Victorian-style frock with a twist by Givenchy for the city’s international film festival. Featuring a high neck, major ruffle detailing and sheer sleeves, the ensemble was anchored by a pair of nude sandals.

Meanwhile, Magic Mike XXL star Amber Heard chatted with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show in a lace Dolce & Gabbana mermaid dress and satin pumps accented with bows. Red was also le colour du jour for Amber’s Magic Mike co-star, Jada Pinkett Smith, who donned a sweet red-and-white Nina Ricci creation at the film’s press junket in Atlanta.

Minimalist styles also had their moment this week as Selita Ebanks, Amal Clooney, Cobie Smulders and Lily James all stunned in sleek one-piece ensembles.

Amal sported a utilitarian-style romper by Sonia Rykiel while roaming the streets of Notting Hill, while Cobie donned a plunging v-neck jumpsuit at the premiere of the movie Unexpected at the BAM Cinema Festival in NYC. Lily and Selita both took to ivory for their respective appearances — Lily in a white shirtdress and strappy gold sandals at the Vogue x Ralph Lauren Wimbledon event in London, and Selita in a billowing design by Ashi Studio at the Style Africa Gala in L.A., where she was honoured for her many humanitarian efforts. (P.S. We are absolutely dying over those braids!)

Last but never least, Kate Bosworth and Selena Gomez also provided some much-needed wardrobe inspiration in summery looks perfect for day and night.
