Ryan Reynolds on wife Blake Lively: 'She might be the Beyoncé of red carpets'

Ryan Reynolds has learned first hand what it means to dominate a red carpet, thanks to wife Blake Lively. The loving husband has even gone as far as to call the Gossip Girl star “the Beyoncé of red carpets.”

“My wife knows how to work a red carpet, I’ll say that,” he said during an interview with AOL Build.

“Yeah, she might be the Beyoncé of red carpets.”

The actor also gave an insight into the preparation beyond Blake’s impeccable red carpet looks.

“She’s turned that into an athletic event,” he joked. “I see what goes into that… Real science. It’s unbelievable.

“You guys see the finished product, I see the totally destroyed closet, bedroom and kitchen by the time she walks out the door. So, yeah, I don’t even know how shoes got in the freezer. It’s like that, it’s seriously nuts. There’s kung fu involved, it’s really intense.”

Ryan mentioned Beyoncé in response to questions from a member of the audience who asked: 1) “How does it feel to have a wife who literally slays it on the red carpet with whatever outfit she has on?” And 2) “What is your opinión on Beyoncé?”

“Beyoncé, she’s the Michael Jordan of music to me,” he said. “I’ve seen four of her shows, and that’s what comes to mind every time. She’s incomparable.

“I guess you’d just say she’s Beyoncé. You can’t really say ‘She’s the this of the that,’ that terrible thing that everybody does. But honestly, she’s the Michael Jackson of Beyoncé.”

Blake and Ryan, who first met on the set of Green Lantern in 2010, welcomed their first child together in December of last year, a baby daughter that they named James.
