The Week's Best Celebrity Style: Ciara, Kate Beckinsale, Rachel McAdams and more

By Nicole Carrington

The ultimate complement to summer’s scorching temps is white-hot ensembles, and fashion lovers like Alicia Vikander, Kate Beckinsale and Rachel McAdams were game to play blank canvas this week.

Kate Beckinsale doubled up on the trends in an off-shoulder design by Bec and Bridge paired with reptile-print Kurt Geiger pumps at the press night for The Mentalists in London. Out in Los Angeles, Southpaw star Rachel McAdams channeled her sweet side in a bell-sleeved lace creation by Zuhair Murad with floral black accents at the film’s California premiere.

Anna Karenina star Alicia Vikander attended Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con party in a fashion forward two-piece ensemble by Rosetta Getty featuring a wrap-around crop top and high-waisted culottes.

Pastel tones also ruled the streets this week as Gabrielle Union, Solange Knowles, Charli XCX and Elle Fanning all opted for lightened-up versions of their favourite hues. We loved Charli XCX’s subtle homage to Cluelessat Juicy Couture’s UK fragrance launch, where she wore a tweed skirt suit by the brand and added her signature dose of funk in the form of contrasting sunglasses and a bright-red pout.

Hollywood darling Elle Fanning stepped out at the premiere of HBO’s Tig in a whimsical sleeveless Prada design featuring metallic embroidery, delicate bow accents and exaggerated embellishments, and completed her look with silver Christian Louboutin pumps.

Sartorial rockstar Solange Knowles once again graces our list, this time in a peach-toned frock by Barbara Casalosa with a sleeveless bodice and pleated metallic skirt. The singer took her outfit to new heights with coordinating eye shadow and citrus coloured sandals.

The hits didn’t stop there! Gabrielle Union made an appearance at New York Men’s Fashion Week with her husband, NBA star Dwane Wade, in a multi-toned blue jumpsuit by Baja East and a sleeveless beige trench coat. And at the annual ESPY Awards, singer Ciara (a.k.a. the current face of Roberto Cavalli) stunned in a gradient plum gown by Elie Saab. Click through to see who else made the cut!
