The Week's Best Celebrity Style: Amanda Seyfried, Heidi Klum, Sarah Jessica Parker and more

By NIcole Carrington

Minimalism may rule the runway but Hollywood A-listers are playing by their own rules in opulent ensembles and frothy gowns . Between New York Fashion Week, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the walkup to the Emmys, stars like Heidi Klum, Diane Kruger, Amanda Seyfried and model Gigi Hadid have been turning up the glamour all week.

At the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Heidi brought her supermodel A-game in a hyper-feminine, asymmetrically cut Versace look and complemented her frock with loose waves and a bright smile.

Fashion 'It girl' Gigi continued her style reign in an all-white ensemble at Maybelline’s official NYFW soiree. The runway favourite injected an otherwise-demure getup with a solid dose of edge by forgoing a traditional slip under her sheer lace dress and opting for a no-frills bra and high-waisted briefs instead. She topped it off with a tousled bun and covetable plum lip.

Rising starlet Bella Thorne flexed her sartorial skills at PopSugar’s fashion fete in honour of Jonathan Simkhai, rocking a two-piece outfit by the designer featuring a high-waisted pencil skirt and matching textured crop top.

Actresses Gabrielle Union, Amanda Seyfried and Diane Kruger took it back to black at various high-profile events this week. Gabrielle stepped out with her husband, NBA superstar Dwyane Wade, at the Prabal Gurung NYFW presentation in an embellished v-neck dress by the designer paired with silver baubles, Stuart Weitzman’s cult-favourite Nudist heels and a coordinating clutch.

Also at NYFW was Amanda, who made a rare appearance at the Givenchy show in a shimmering mermaid skirt, simple tank top and Hollywood-glam waves – the complete epitome of cool-girl chic.

Meanwhile, back in Toronto, Diane stole the show in a short-sleeved Chanel Haute Couture number with a bell skirt and peppered sequins, finishing the winning look with cherry-red, satin Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

Style icon Sarah Jessica Parker and newcomer Emily Ratajkowski also caught our eye in easy-to-emulate street looks perfect for the fashion transition into fall.
