Ellie Goulding replaces Rihanna as Victoria's Secret performer

Rihanna has bowed out of her coveted position as a performer at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, but she’s got good reason. The pop star is hard at work on her album, according to People.

Stepping in to take Rihanna’s place is Ellie Goulding, who has just been announced as the new performer alongside Selena Gomez.

It was set to be Rihanna’s second turn on the famous runway – in 2012, she was the headline act and wore a pink satin robe as she belted out her hit singles on the runway in what has since become one of the brand’s most iconic shows.

In 2013 and 2014, Taylor Swift took over as the headline act. It’s the first time for Selena, but she is bound to get some first-hand advice from her best friend Taylor.

Another performer will be Canadian singer The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, who will make his debut at the show.

The star is currently dating Bella Hadid. Bella’s sister Gigi is set to walk in the show, having been announced as the latest model to walk the show just last week.

The 20-year-old broke down when she heard the news about landing the job, showing just how much the coveted gig meant to her.

The lingerie brand confirmed Gigi’s exciting news by sharing her audition tape.

“We [heart] surprises so here’s a BIG one for @GigiHadid at the #VSFashionShow castings! See you on the runway, Gigi,” the label wrote.

In the short clip, Gigi struts the catwalk in her underwear for the show’s executive producers Ed Razek and Monica Mitro.

After her walk, Ed asks her, "What are you doing the on November 9th and 10th?”

A clearly excited Gigi answers shyly, “I don’t know”, to which Ed says: “Why don’t you come join us?!”
