Inside the star-studded Saint Laurent show: Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and more

By Sarah Walker

There's nothing like a big-name fashion show to bring together some of Hollywood's brightest stars, and Saint Laurent did just that on Wednesday evening (Feb. 10). From a curly-haired Lady Gaga to recently emoji-fied singer Justin Bieber, the star-studded showing in Los Angeles was a hotbed of style inspiration and star power.

A-list eyes were fixed on Saint Laurent's rocker wares as the French design house strutted its 2016 fall/winter collection down the theatre's runway. The front row was riddled with famous faces, like couple Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Courtney Love, Beck, Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Gary Oldman and Sylvester Stallone. The Bonet-Kravitz clan made it a family affair as rock-dresser-extraordinaire Lenny joined former partner Lisa and their daughter Zoë, while Pamela Anderson posed on the red carpet with her sons Brandon and Dylan Lee in tow.

Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga caught up at the event.

In the heart of the action, Justin was snapped chatting with Vogue's Grace Coddington, while Dakota and Elle Fanning were photographed sporting similarly smokey eye makeup.

Overall, the wares displayed were dapper and drenched in details, with androgyny as a key theme. There were jackets with ornate patterns and a lot of floral and printed ensembles. Fabrics were also decadent, with silks and velvets playing a starring role.

Pamela Anderson also came with family: sons Brandon and Dylan.

Though exceptionally private, the brand's creative director Hedi Slimane gave a rare interview with Yahoo in 2015, where he talked about his love of fashion.

"My mother had a significant influence. She worked as a seamstress when she came from Italy to Paris, in the early '60s. Her uncle was a tailor, and her aunt taught her how to sew and cut without pattern," he said. "My mother was really gifted and used to take me around as a kid to buy fabrics. Making clothes was always around me, but I did not care much for it, until I turned 16 and started to feel the need to design my own clothes."

This was just the first reveal of Saint Laurent's fall collection. The second round of clothing will be presented at Paris Fashion Week in March.
