Week’s best celebrity style: Mindy Kaling, Diane Kruger, Rachel McAdams and more

By Ava Baccari

Stylishly speaking, it's been one of Hollywood's glitziest weeks of the year – with the doling out of golden statuettes at the 2016 Oscars and the sparkling red carpet ensembles worthy of the awards season's final act. To celebrate her Best Supporting Actress honour, Alicia Vikander stepped out of her Disney princess-worthy yellow Louis Vuitton masterpiece and into a sexy black gown by the French fashion house for the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Forget diamonds, The Danish Girl star's shiny trophy was the best accessory of the night.

The A-list bash welcomed other sartorial sweethearts like Mindy Kaling, who dazzled in a custom Salvador Perez dress with sparkly floral embellishments and a sequin Oroton clutch to match. Spotlight star and Oscar nominee Rachel McAdams changed into a sequin-studded dusty rose Naeem Khan gown for the evening soiree. (Priyanka Chopra and was also part of the fun in a silvery Jenny Packham gown).

While it wasn't Jennifer Lawrence's year to win Best Actress – that honour went to Brie Larson for her harrowing performance in Room – the four-time nominee was in winning fashion form in Naeem Khan at the Dinner for Equality event the following night. Also hitting up the Oscar party circuit was Hilary Swank, who stopped by the 2016 Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Viewing Party in an elegant Michael Kors outfit.

Brooklyn star Saoirse Ronan paid a glittering homage to her Irish homeland in a sparkling emerald Calvin Klein gown. And style star Diane Kruger rocked head-to-toe Chanel at the Charles Finch and Chanel Pre-Oscar Awards dinner, proving that it was a star (and sequin!)-studded affair no matter where you turned in Hollywood this week!
