Week’s Best Celebrity Style: Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Watts, Lupita Nyong'o and more

By Ava Baccari

Chilly temps have made a stylish parade out of cozy knits and chunky layers this winter, but we welcome the lighter, brighter hues that were spotted on stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Watts and Lupita Nyong'o this week – whether in monochromatic ensembles or bold colour-blocked pairings.

The ever-stylish Lupita Nyong'o steered the colourful trend in a Crayola-bright coral outfit for her appearance on Late Night with Seth Myers. The Oscar winner and Star Wars star donned a Balmain bandeau and wide-legged pants topped off with a matching blazer. It's a reminder that Lupita's A-list style is all about taking fashion risks and pulling them off seamlessly.

This week, the geniuses behind the award-winning red carpet looks in Hollywood were fêted at The Hollywood Reporter and Jimmy Choo's Power Stylists Dinner in Los Angeles. Gwyneth Paltrow and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stepped out in support of the creative pals who give them serious fashion cred: from Cristina Ehrlich, who styled Brie Larson throughout awards season, to Elizabeth Saltzman, who counts the Goop founder as one of her longtime A-list clients.

Naomi Watts displayed her veteran style-star status in a metallic colour-block silver-and-black ensemble for the New York premiere of Allegiant. The Australian beauty returns to the screen for the third installment of the Divergent franchise, along with Shailene Woodley, who walked the red carpet in an elegant Elie Saab jumpsuit.

And we couldn't get enough of the bold ensembles worn by Kendall Jenner and Sofia Coppola (in Fendi) at a store event in Rome with the Italian house's creative director Karl Lagerfeld. Or Jennifer Garner, who gave some Canadian fashion love to homegrown label Soia & Kyo – another trend that's seeing some of the biggest names in the world support designers from the Great White North (the Sophie effect, perhaps?)!
