Week’s Best Celebrity Style: Emily Blunt, Natalie Portman, Elle Fanning and more

By Ava Baccari

There’s something impossibly (read: effortlessly) chic about a classic white ensemble. Whether it’s a bohemian LWD – think garden party-inspo – or a slouchy pair of culottes paired with classic white sneaks, these summery looks have been getting a lot of play on the red carpet. With celebs like Emily Blunt, Elle Fanning and Natalie Portman stepping out in playful white frocks, these versatile blanch looks remain the ultimate style go-to for summer soirées.

Emily Blunt took the classic, minimalist approach in a fitted David Koma gown with mirrored stud detailing. The new mom of two sharply paired the runway look with metallic heels for the red carpet and looked absolutely stunning at her first appearance since welcoming her second daughter Violet in June!

Leave it to burgeoning fashion icon Elle Fanning to play up a sheer white confection with embroidered patches and whimsical pins – like a champagne glass and shooting star! The Neon Demon star stole the show in her whimsical Marc Jacobs Resort 2017 gown and black satin pumps.

Always a style-savvy star, Natalie Portman attended the premiere of her directorial debut A Tale of Love and Darkness, in a creamy, off-white silk dress by Dior. We couldn’t help but wonder if her delicate bow straps and chicly pulled-back chignon were a style nod to her Black Swan days.

Elsewhere, stars stepped out in white-hot looks, including Joan Smalls (in MISHA), Jessica Szohr (in Diane von Furstenberg), Chanel Iman (in David Koma) and Rita Ora (in Ellery). Plus, style boss Karlie Kloss’ winning airport ensemble of oversized white pants and kicks left us with style inspiration for days – well, at least until Labour Day!
