Paris Jackson has landed her first fashion magazine cover, just weeks after making her modelling debut. The 18-year-old joins a number of high profile models including Gigi and Bella Hadid in starring on one of the covers for the tenth issue of Carine Roitfeld's CR Fashion Book.
Wearing a vibrant blue Gucci ensemble, the teenager looks striking in the images, captured by legendary photographer Mario Sorrenti. Paris wears her bleach blond hair slicked into a quiff, with a bold red lipstick to match her manicure. In the accompanying interview with director Lee Daniels, the teenager mused about the different things she hopes to achieve in her career, including modelling, acting and activism.
"Right now I'm doing the modelling thing," she said, adding: "I've always wanted to try out acting, but maybe in a couple years. I really believe in activism and I want to do bigger things." Paris also revealed that she enjoys writing music, but is not interested in following in the footsteps of her father Michael Jackson by pursuing a recording career: "I write music for myself. I use it as a way to get stuff out," she said.
"It's not something I see myself following career-wise. There are so many amazing artists in my family. If I were to do it as a career, it would change how I feel about music and I don't want that to happen." For now Paris seems to be enjoying her foray into fashion, and recently sat front row next to fashion editor Carine at the Givenchy menswear show at Paris Fashion Week.
Paris was also spotted on a photoshoot for Chanel in January, after reportedly impressing several major brands with her striking looks. Although she is a newcomer to modelling, Paris appeared at ease in front of the camera as she posed in a jeep surrounded by men acting as soldiers. The daughter of Michael Jackson waved French and American flags in the air while dressed in a white pussybow blouse and knee-length skirt.
