Prince William presents Victoria Beckham with OBE

Victoria Beckham received an OBE from Prince William during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday (Apr. 19). The former Spice Girl, who said he felt "honoured and humbled" to receive the recognition, who was accompanied by her husband David and her parents Jacqueline and Anthony. Naturally, the style icon looked ultra-chic in a floor-length black dress from her own label which she teamed with burgundy heels.

Victoria, 43, was being recognized for her services to the fashion industry and her 17-year career. After the ceremony she said: "It was an absolute pleasure to be at Buckingham Palace today. I'm proud to be British, honoured and humbled to receive my OBE from the Duke of Cambridge. If you dream big and work hard you can accomplish great things. I'm so happy to share this very special occasion with my parents and husband; without their love and support, none of this would be possible."

The businesswoman, who is the proud mum to Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, transferred her skills from singing to designing in 2008. Her fashion empire has grown and Victoria is now famed for her eponymous clothes label as well as her secondary diffusion line Victoria, Victoria Beckham. Famous fans of her label include her close friend Eva Longoria and fellow A-listers Gwyneth Paltrow, Sienna Miller and Blake Lively.

Victoria's husband David received his OBE from the Queen in 2003 for services to football. Earlier this year, the former England football captain released a statement saying that his alleged leaked emails, which criticized the honours system, were "doctored". The alleged emails expressed anger over having missed out on a knighthood. However David's statement read: "This story is based on outdated material taken out of context from hacked and doctored private emails from a third party server and gives a deliberately inaccurate picture."
