'My son will be an American' declares Olivier Martinez

The French actor was in his hometown for the opening night of the Champs-Elysées Film Festival on June 12, where he is serving as this year’s honorary president. 'My son will be an American, but I remain French,' Martinez told People magazine. 'I’m French — it’s less important,' the 47-year-old said. 'Meaning, I remain a Frenchman in America, but I adapt to American culture. I feel good there — but I’m still a foreigner.' Prior to the evening's declarations, he and Halle Berry  took a stroll through the City of Light with her handsome fiancé.

The attractive couple were spotted walking hand-in-hand through the streets of Paris, as they visited the shopping districts of Plaza Athenee and Avenue Montaigne.

Out and about in one of the world's fashion capitals, they certainly looked the part. Pregnant Halle looked radiant in a draped grey cardigan, a floor-length skirt and a black top that clung to her growing baby bump. Aviator shades and gladiator-style sandals completed her look.

Her partner Olivier, 47, also chose a cool casual look in a brown leather jacket, black t-shirt, jeans and boots as he escorted his future wife through his hometown.

Halle is five months into her pregnancy, with the new arrival — her first child with Olivier — expected in the autumn. The Oscar-winner is also a mum to five-year-old Nahla with her ex Gabriel Aubry.

The actress, 46, has previously spoken of her surprise at falling pregnant later on in life.

Speaking to ET Online, she said, "I'm thinking that this is a miracle. I feel really happy. It's one of the best things that happened in my life, for sure."

Halle and Olivier started dating in 2010 after meeting on the set of Dark Tide. The couple got engaged in March 2012 and in April 2013 announced they were expecting their first baby.
