For sisters Kate and Rooney Mara, being in the public eye is a family affair.
And while one might expect a sibling rivalry to take hold, 31-year-old Kate insists there’s no competition between the silver-screen stunners.

In a new interview with Manhattan magazine, the House of Cards star gushes about her little sister and says she’s relieved that Rooney chose to enter into the same profession.
“It's really rare to have a sibling going through the same, or very, very similar, experiences as you: similar stresses and joys and uncertainties,” Kate said.
“There’s something about having the girl closest to me in my life also experiencing the exact same job – I know how unique that is. I don't take it for granted at all," she added.
Kate was the first to pursue acting, but it was 29-year-old Rooney who earned considerable media attention for her breakout role in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo back in 2011.
Since then, the stylish pair has enjoyed enormous success in Hollywood, though now it’s big-sister Kate’s real time to shine. Her Netflix series is hotter than ever and she’s earned an upcoming role in a reboot of The Fantastic Four.
“It’s quite surreal that we both are so lucky in the success of it all,” said Kate in an interview with the Independent last month.
