Comedian Mike Myers to be featured on a Canadian stamp

Mike Myers - beloved Canadian comic and star of the Austin Powers trilogy - is going to have his face on a postage stamp.

An official announcement outlined the new release, which will see the funnyman on an 85-cent stamp featuring some of his most famous roles: Wayne Campbell from Wayne’s World, and both Austin Powers and Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers movies.

Mike told Jimmy Fallon that when he broke the news to his mother her first question was, “Um, is anyone else getting a stamp?”

All mom jokes aside, the Shrek star expressed his gratitude in a recent Tonight Show interview, laughing, “I want to thank whoever in the Canadian government decided to put this idiot on a stamp.”

The 51-year-old joker is the first celebrity to be honoured in this new series fêting Canada's famous comedians, and his stamp will launch sometime in late August or early September. All other honoured comics have yet to be announced, but we are hoping for a little Leslie Nielsen, Catherine O’ Hara and John Candy love.

Mike is currently on a press tour for his documentary Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon, which is in theatres now.
