You may remember Jay Baruchel as the former host of Popular Mechanics for Kids or for his starring role in Judd Apatow’s Fox series, Undeclared.
But he’s done a lot since then, including starring in This is the End alongside Seth Rogen and James Franco (where he played himself, a famous Hollywood actor) and lending his voice to the animated How to Train Your Dragon franchise.
Now, the star is returning to his small-screen roots with Man Seeking Woman, a 10-episode FX series comedy that follows the dating mishaps of a young, single man.
Created by Simon Rich, one of the youngest writers to be hired by Saturday Night Live, the plot is reportedly based on Simon’s book of short stories, The Last Girlfriend on Earth. SNL founder Lorne Michaels will serve as one of the show’s executive producers.
When Variety broke the news of Jay’s latest acting chapter, the Montreal-born actor reacted with a simple tweet: “WOOHOO!”
And there’s more down the pipeline for Jay, 32. He stars alongside Kathy Bates in the upcoming Stephen King film 10 O’ Clock People, and is also working on a yet-to-be-named Cameron Crowe film starring Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bradley Cooper and Bill Murray.
