Daniel Radcliffe is a romantic: I've written a lot of love poems'

Daniel Radcliffe grew up in the spotlight as the star of the Harry Potter franchise, but in his latest film, The F-Word, he finally takes on the romantic comedy genre – and has recently revealed his own romantic side.

In a recent Elle Interview, the 25-year-old actor admits he’s every bit the romantic type, stressing, “I was writing poetry consistently when I was 16 to 19 or 20. In that period I would have written a lot of love poems.”

But while he may be an experienced poet, he’s also bashful, adding, “I have none that I want to see in print on the Internet forever!”

The Harry Potter actor is likely to have made fans swoon with his talk of marriage. In the same interview, the Horns star spoke candidly about his views of traditional courtship: “It seems like the most romantic thing you can do is stand up in front of all your friends and say that you love this person.”

While Daniel met his current girlfriend, Erin Darke, in 2012 on the set of Kill Your Darlings, he told the magazine that he received the best dating advice from his Harry Potter co-star, Imelda Staunton.

“I had a girlfriend, and we’d said, ’Oh, we’ll not do Valentine’s Day. Don’t do any of that.‘ I was relaying that to Imelda, and she told me that ‘no matter what any girl says just do something,’” he said.

Daniel found fame at the age of 10 when he was cast as the titular character in the Harry Potter film franchise. He recently addressed the possibility of returning to the big screen as the spectacle-wearing character when author J.K Rowling shared a short, spin-off story on the Pottermore website.

“My inclination is to say ‘no’ because I don’t think it’s even a hypothetical at the moment,” he said via satellite link at the Television Critics Association’s Summer Press Tour.

The F-Word is slated to premiere in Canada on August 22.
