But Tim, 28, wasn’t about to give anything away just yet. He handed the first impression rose to “vocalist” Christine, throwing audiences a curve ball – and leaving the remaining women wondering about their chances.

So, what’s behind the bachelor's cool, confident exterior?

In an exclusive interview with Hello! we learned that there’s more than meets the eye to this Canadian dreamboat. First, he’s been heartbroken before. “In my past relationships, leaving them was incredibly hard because they were great relationships and I was really in love,” he said, citing “something missing” as the main reason for having parted ways.

This has made Tim more determined than ever to find “the one,” to settle down and raise a family – which he says is his ultimate goal from this whole experience.

“To me, having kids is the most satisfying thing you can do in life,” he said.

And although he’s a big-city businessman (and looks the part in his custom suits!), fans might be surprised to learn that the outdoorsy bachelor is actually a country boy at heart.

Tim Warmels' top 10 favourite things

“My absolute favourite is going camping with my family,” he said. “You throw the canoe on top of the car, pack everything up, drive up north, Mom and the big kid in one canoe and Dad and the younger one in the other canoe – and you canoe out into the middle of nowhere in Algonquin Park. I really enjoy the outdoors. We have a cottage about an hour north of Parry Sound that is my favourite place on the planet.”

Judging by the season’s promo reel, the self-proclaimed “hopeless romantic” has his work cut out for him as he tries to find his future wife.

“The largest decision you make in life is who you spend it with,” he told Hello! – and not one to be taken lightly.

Episode two of The Bachelor Canada airs on Sept. 25 at 8 pm on City.
