2015 Screen Actors Guild Award nominees announced

By Sarah Kelsey

If ever there was a sure sign that awards season is right around the corner, it would be the 2015 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards announcement on Wednesday morning (Dec. 10). The nominations were delivered by The Fault in Our Stars actor Ansel Elgort and actress Eva Longoria.

On the movie side, Michael Keaton's latest film, Birdman, led the pack with four nominations, followed by Boyhood, The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything.

Modern Family nabbed the most nods in the TV category, including Best Ensemble Cast in a Comedy, while dramas Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones were a close second and third.

Two of this year’s nominees were big winners last year, including Modern Family’s Ty Burrell and Downton Abbey's Maggie Smith. Other A-listers who took home a statue in the 2014 film categories include leads Matthew McConaughey for hisOscar-winning turn in Dallas Buyers Club and Cate Blanchett's performance in Blue Jasmine, plus supporting stars Lupita Nyong'o in 12 Years a Slave and Jared Leto for Dallas Buyers Club. Veepstar Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad were big winners on the TV side.

Below, we’ve rounded up a full list of who’s up for a statue on Jan. 25, 2015. The ceremony will be broadcast on TNT/TBS. Who do you think should win? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter.
