Watch 12-year-old Ryan Gosling dance in MC Hammer pants

Before Ryan Gosling became an A-list actor, he was an aspiring young performer who sang, danced and had a penchant for MC Hammer-style pants – and there’s video evidence to prove it!

The Internet is rejoicing this week after new clips of the Canadian heartthrob dancing onstage at age 12 have resurfaced.

In one of the super-cute clips, the charismatic young star can be seen dancing his heart out at Ontario’s Elite Dance Centre while wearing a pair of silver lamé harem pants. At one point during his confident routine, he even does the famed “ funky chicken” dance move.

In another video, young Ryan gyrates on top of a car to Elvis Presley’s “Hound Dog.”

They clips were reportedly filmed at the dance studio one year before he joined Disney’s The Mickey Mouse Club, which also starred Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.

The actor took to Twitter this week to confirm that the videos were real.

"Obviously I peaked early,” he replied good-naturedly to a fan.

“We both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and just think it is a beautiful name,” explained Eva. “Her middle is Amada, which was my grandmother's name. It means ‘beloved’ in Spanish. We were really excited about naming her.”

Eva said that she and Ryan, 34, have so far cared for their baby girl without the help of a nanny, relying instead of their mothers or siblings to “come over and really help.”

She added, “But as far as a nanny or night nurse, for me that part of being a mother at this early stage is the struggle of not being able to sleep and not knowing what I’m doing and really going through it with her and battling out those nights.”
