See Tom Cruise in the first trailer for 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation'

Tom Cruise is back in Ethan Hunt’s shoes for the fifth time in two decades, reprising the famous role for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation – which might just be his most impossible mission yet. In the first trailer for the blockbuster, the Hollywood heavyweight drums up some high-stakes drama, action and a few laughs, all set to a darker version of The Fugee’s classic “Ready Or Not.”

The fifth film in the hugely popular franchises sees Ethan and his team, including William Brandt (Jeremy Renner) and Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) attempting to finally eradicate The Syndicate, a secret and deadly organisation who will stop at nothing to destroy the IMF.

Alec Baldwin stars as the Head of the CIA who asks: “How come the CIA has never discovered any intel regarding The Syndicate?”

Jeremy’s William replies: “Do you want the polite answer, or the truth” – suggesting that things are not all that they seem in even the most trusted of organisations.

Simon Pegg returns for his third Mission: Impossible film as IMF technician Benji, helping to provide the smarts as well as the comic relief, as Ethan zips around the world by motorbike, car – and as the iconic Mission: Impossible theme music plays over the final thirty seconds – an Army aircraft.

There’s a good chance the UK premiere of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation may be a star-studded affair, as Tom is good friends with many British stars – including former England football captain David Beckham and film director Guy Ritchie.

Tom and David had plenty of time to catch up in 2014 as Tom filmed much of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation in London. The two were seen having a chilled drink together in June in West London’s trendy Notting Hill, sitting at a corner table and sharing a bottle of red wine while David also sipped on a pint of ale.

Tom and Guy also joined David birthday celebrations earlier in March, with David sharing a photo of them together on Facebook, telling fans: “Here’s a pic of me with my dear friends Guy Ritchie and Tom Cruise from my Haig Club London dinner this past Sunday. #HaigClubLondon”.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation is out on 30 July 2015
