Sofia Vergara on filming 'Hot Pursuit' with Reese Witherspoon: 'I sent her to the emergency room!'

Reese Witherspoon got more than she bargained for while filming a fight sequence with feisty Sofia Vergara for their upcoming comedy, Hot Pursuit. The pals, who presented Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards over the weekend, appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show to talk about some of their hilarious on-set blunders.

The giggling twosome clearly had a riot shooting the film together, though there was one scene in particular that stood out for the co-stars.

“We did a fight sequence. She’s tough,” said Reese, prompting Sofia to say, “Are you going tell them what I did do you?”

Grinning broadly, the 42-year-old Modern Family star then confessed: “She went to the emergency room. I sent her to the emergency room."

"I push her and I push her, and I kept telling her, 'I think I'm pushing you too hard,' and she was like, 'No do it real,' " added Sofia, who revealed that the incident soon turned serious as they thought Reese had “internal bleeding.”

The hilarious duo became fast friends on set

A quick trip to the ER revealed that the Colombian beauty had accidentally popped the Oscar-winning actress's ovary during the fray, though neither star seemed to be bothered by the emergency in hindsight as they laughed their way through the interview.

Sofia also teased her friend about her poor Spanish-language skills, telling Ellen, "Now I finally understand why I am so funny to the Americans," before attempting to mimic Reese’s southern accent.

Sofia Vergara thought fiancé Joe Manganiello was ‘too handsome’ to date

Originally titled Don’t Mess With Texas, the comedy follows an uptight cop (Reese) tasked with protecting a fiery widow and criminal witness (Sofia), whose late husband happened to be a drug lord. It also stars Sean Penn and Selma’s David Oyelowo.

The duo will hit the red carpet for the film’s Hollywood premiere next month. To celebrate, Hello! Canada is giving one winner and a guest the complete VIP red-carpet experience at the Los Angeles premiere of what's sure to be one of spring's most exciting comedies!
