Did Sarah Jessica Parker just confirm 'Sex and the City 3'?

Chris Noth may have told Hello! exclusively not to expect another Sex and the City sequel, but Sarah Jessica Parker is singing a different tune! The mother of three caused a social-media frenzy by posting a photo of herself as Carrie Bradshaw on Instagram, with the street in New York appearing to be closed off for filming and crowds lining the barriers snapping photos of the star.

Sarah Jessica Parker has fuelled speculation that Sex and the City 3 is in the pipeline

“Well. I guess the cat’s out of the (little brown) bag,” she captioned the image. “As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able. I’m under strict gag order until then. Xx, Sj.”

It’s not the first time that the cast have dropped hints that Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda may be back in our lives. Jennifer Hudson, who starred in the first Sex and the City movie, sparked speculation that another instalment was on its way last year.

“I think it might be happening,” she told Dish Nation. “Somebody just came to me talking about that. So if it’s in talks, it might happen. So look for it!”

Meanwhile, the original HBO series’ creator Michael Patrick King also fuelled rumours in February when he revealed he had ideas for more storylines.

“Sarah Jessica and I both know what the final chapter is,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “That doesn’t mean it will or should be told, but I do think there’s one story left. Whether it ever happens is a whole other situation.

“But there’s four girls, and those girls are still in my mind. There are other stories to tell and characters that haven’t even been written yet.”

Although there has yet to be official confirmation that the third film is in the pipeline, Sarah Jessica’s latest Instagram snap has been considered by many fans as a sneak peek at what’s in store for Carrie Bradshaw.
