Tatiana Maslany and the Property Brothers snag first Emmy nominations

Some of Canada's most beloved stars have been nominated for their very fist Emmy Awards - including Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, who credits her fans with fighting for her recognition. The actress told E! News that "the nomination is so surreal and exciting, mostly because of our fans and how voraciously supportive and protective they are of our show."

The Property Brothers , Jonathan and Drew Scott, were also among the Canadians who debuted in the nominee list. The Scott brothers took to Twitter to express their joy over being nominated in the Outstanding Structured Reality Program category .

"We're so grateful to be nominated for this year's #Emmy awards. Congratulations to the other nominees!" The series, which airs on W Network and HGTV, broadcasting in 140 countries, sees the duo transform tired old houses for new home buyers.

The twins' hit series goes up against Antiques Roadshow, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Mythbusters, Shark Tank and Undercover Boss.

As for Tatiana, she learned of her nomination moments after a fire alarm went off in her home. She described the moment as "terrifying," but, of course, thoroughly exciting too. The 29-year-old is up for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series alongside some of Hollywood's biggest heavyweights: Claire Danes ( Homeland), Viola Davis (How to Get Away With Murder), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) and Robin Wright (House of Cards).

The Regina native recently won her second Canadian Screen Award and a pair of Critics' Choice Television Awards for her portrayal of Sarah and her many clones on the hit show, which is filmed in Toronto.

Other Canadians up for a statue include Michael J. Fox in the Guest Actor category for The Good Wife, Jeremy Podeswa for a Game of Thrones episode he directed and Semi Chellas for his writing on Mad Men .

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on Sept. 20 and will be hosted by Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg.
