Avril Lavigne has become a superstar thanks to her captivating singing voice, so it comes as no surprise that the star has been recruited to lend her talents to the upcoming animated flick Charming.
An excited Avril took to social media to share the news with her 19-million followers, writing, “Hey guys! If you don’t know, now you know! Officially announcing: I’m#SNOWWHITE in the up coming animated feature #CHARMING!” The 30-year-old joins a growing cast that includes Demi Lovato and Ashley Tisdale. “Triple Trouble!” the singer captioned a photo of her fellow leading ladies, exclaiming, “It’s going to be BLAST! You guys ready?”
This isn’t the first time that the Napanee native’s voice has played a starring role in a hit movie. Back in 2006, Avril voiced the character of Heather the opossum in Over the Hedge. She also had a small part in the 2007 horror movie The Flock. Her role in Charming sees her pitted against other princesses who discover that they are all engaged to Prince Charming. “It’s so much fun!” says Avril.
The exciting casting news comes on the heels of Avril’s triumphant return to the stage on July 25, when she performed her inspiring single “Fly” at the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony in Los Angeles. The captivating production was the first time Avril sang for an audience after spending a year battling a debilitating case of Lyme’s Disease. Much to the delight of her fans, she has revealed that she is also hard at work on her sixth studio album, even calling on her husband, Chad Kroeger, to help produce some of her songs.
