Ryan Reynolds's 'Deadpool' takes on 'The Bachelor'

While we were all occupied watching the première of The Bachelor, Ryan Reynolds was busy parodying the show on Twitter dressed as his character Deadpool.

On Monday night (Jan. 4), the 39-year-old star took to the social media channel to convince people to see his new Marvel movie. He started by posting this message to his profile @VancityReynolds.

"If I were on The Bachelor, I'd step out of that limo wearing nothing but white socks and like, 312 candy necklaces. #DeadpoolOnTheBachelor"

He then went on to share a hilarious, Bachelor-themed trailer for the film.

“Oh, hello," he says while sitting on a leather couch holding a red rose, "you’re probably thinking "my boyfriend said this is a superhero movie." Well, surprise -- this is actually a love story."

What follows are shots of the father of one's washboard abs, his character trying to rescue the film's leading lady and him performing a variety of stunts. In the background Deadpool can be heard saying, "When your worst enemy is after your best girl, it’s time to be a superhero."

All the actor had to say about the sharing the clip in primetime was "Shameless Bachelor-bating TV spot."

Not that we, or anyone else on Twitter, are complaining. Deadpool will be the first blockbuster movie we've seen the Vancouver native in since 2011's Green Lantern. Although he starred in a few pictures in 2014 and 2015, he opted out of others saying he wanted to spend more time with his one-year-old daughter, James.

Ryan used Twitter to promote his new movie, Deadpool

“It seems almost unbelievable that she’s already a year old. That’s why I want to make the most of this time in her life," he told the Mirror.

Deadpool hits theatres on Feb. 12.
