Ryan Reynolds admits to smuggling pies for wife Blake Lively

We know Ryan Reynolds is many things, but we had no idea he was a pie smuggler! The actor revealed his sneaky ways on The Graham Norton Show on Friday (Jan. 29), but it was all for a good cause: love. The Deadpool star secretly brought Canadian apple pies into the U.S. for his beloved Blake Lively.

"My wife is a foodie and loves these apple pies they make in Vancouver where I grew up so we grabbed a bunch of them and we were heading back down to the States and across the border."

Ryan Reynolds revealed his pie-smuggling past on The Graham Norton Show.

Ryan went on to say that he was almost busted by customs personnel. "The guard knew something was going on as I have the worst poker face ever and he had me on a hook."

What ensued was a veritable song and dance between the new dad and the security official. "He said, 'You remember you did that movie Just Friends and at the end you sang "I Swear"?' I said, 'Yes,' and he said, 'Go ahead'... [So] I sang that thing in the best falsetto I had and I was on my way through the border eating pie by the next stop."

It's a lucky thing he was able to clear customs, too. The fine for smuggling anything across the border can be hefty, in the realm of $10,000.

The 39-year-old shared the hilarious story while on the U.K. show with A-listers Will Smith and Catherine Zeta-Jones. He's on the promotion circuit chatting up the new Marvel movie, which hits theaters on Feb. 12, and saying adorable things about his baby girl James. Ryan and Blake even surprised fans at a Jan. 19 screening of Deadpool, where Blake ended up with a less-than-stellar seat.
