Tonight, The Bachelorstar Nick Viall will hand out his final rose to either Raven Gates or Canadian Vanessa Grimaldi. Which lady has won his heart? You'll have to tune in to find out, but in the meantime, we’re flashing back to the reality dating series’ most dramatic endings ever.
The Double Date
In 2005, Charlie O’Connell asked both women to continue dating him after the show. In the After the Final Rose special that followed, he chose Sarah Brice. The couple dated on-off for five years before splitting in 2010.
The Solo Star
On a show that always ends with the bachelor selecting one partner, Brad Womack pulled off the ultimate surprise by choosing no one in 2007. He ultimately returned to the franchise for a second shot at love in 2011.
Romance appeared to be in the air when Jason Mesnick proposed to Melissa Rycroft in 2009, but their After the Final Rose special told a different story. While chatting with Chris Harrison, Jason broke up with Melissa and started dating runner-up Molly Malaney. Despite the scandalous start, they’re still married.
Winemaker Ben Flajnik shocked viewers when he proposed in 2012 to Courtney Robertson, who was considered season 16’s villain for her “not here to make friends” attitude in the mansion. When Ben saw the show, their relationship went from romantic to rocky real quick.
When Juan Pablo Galavis said goodbye to Clare Crawley in 2014, the runner-up didn’t withhold her true feelings. “I lost respect for you,” she told the former soccer player. “I thought I knew what kind of man you were…I’d never want my children having a father like you.”
