Watch Mariah Carey's first trailer for her new reality TV show

Mariah Carey fans have been waiting for their inside look at the 45-year-old's life, and now it's finally here: the first trailer for her upcoming reality show has landed. The superstar's Mariah's World features eight episodes behind the scenes of her fabulous world as she embarks on her biggest endeavour yet.

The E! reality show will follow Mariah on her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour as she juggles performing to sold out arenas with planning her wedding to Australian billionaire James Packer.

Mariah's World will debut on E! later this year

Apparently keen to show the world what she's really like, mother-of-two Mariah says: "I'm not Cinderella, my life has not been a fairy tale. Forget the image, forget the rumours. I owe this to the fans."

But don't worry because it looks like Mariah's World will still be full of hilarious moments from the diva. In one scene, she explains: "I have a rule which states I will not be seen in fluorescent lighting without sunglasses."

An official summary of the series reads: " Mariah's World takes viewers beyond the flashbulbs and fame and into the private life of singer, songwriter and mega-producer Mariah Carey.

"It will give viewers VIP access to the songstress like never before as she begins her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour of the United Kingdom, Europe and Africa, all while planning her wedding to Australian business mogul, James Packer."

During a recent interview with Sunday Times Style, Mariah confessed she struggled with the intrusion of the cameras – but added that she put her own worries to one side for her loyal army of fans, known as the Lambs.

She said: "It's a big thing for me. Yes, it's annoying. I wanted to document this tour because I don't know when I am going on tour again. I wish I could have documented other tours. I'm doing this for the fans – they'll love it."
