By Emmy Griffiths

Could we BE any more excited? It has been announced that a Friends musical is currently in the works, and is set to debut in New York City in the fall. The show, which will star our favourite gang – Chandler, Phoebe, Ross, Joey, Rachel and Monica – isn't being officially endorsed by the creators of the original sitcom, but has songs penned by well-known writing duo Bob and Tobly McSmith. The pair are best known for creating off-Broadway parody hits including Think 90210! The Musical and Kardashians! The Musical.

Lisa Kudrow recently opened up about the possibility of having a reunion for the TV show, telling Heat magazine: "I feel like I'm just constantly bursting that little bubble of hope, each and every time it's asked. It's been 13 years, 13 years of the same question and right now, or in the future, it's not going to happen. And every time I say that, I get yelled at [laughs]. Yeah, [it] probably won't happen]. What's it going to be about? Really, how is it going to work? This is what everybody is forgetting."

However, she then added that it would be "a lot of fun" to get back together for a reunion episode. "But even just from a logistical purpose, it would never work because everyone is on a totally, ridiculous work schedule, that's the opposite of someone else," she explained. "It's even impossible for us to get together for dinner, it's really hard. It's six people, how easy it is for you to get six of your friends together?"
