When we named Sarah Gadon one of our Most Beautiful stars of 2014, we were thrilled that the Canadian star was fast becoming an internationally recognized face thanks to her role in David Cronenberg's Maps to the Stars. Little did we realize that Sarah's stunning visage would soon front an international beauty campaign - for none other than Giorgio Armani.
Hot on the heels of a glamorous appearance at the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards, where the Toronto-born actress donned a pretty gown by fellow-Canadian Erdem, Sarah today (Feb. 5) announced on Instagram that she's the new face of Giorgio Armani makeup. The prestigious campaign news comes just a few weeks ahead of the Canadian Screen Awards (CSAs), where Sarah picked up a supporting actress statue last year for her role in Denis Villeneuve's Enemy.
In the new Armani ad, the blond beauty's hair frames her face in soft curls, highlighting her flawless, contoured skin, gently arched brows, smoky shadow (oh how those baby blues pop!) and dusty rose lips.
“Sarah has the most delicate, classically beautiful facial features, with her blonde hair, clear complexion and crystalline eyes, and for me she is an example of contemporary beauty,” said Giorgio Armani.
She's also no stranger to the camera, having acted since she was a child - we remember her Are You Afraid of the Dark? days! - and fast becoming a favourite of veteran Canadian director David Cronenberg. The two have collaborated on A Dangerous Method, Cosmopolis and, most recently, Maps to the Stars, costarring Julianne Moore, Robert Pattinson, John Cusack and Mia Wasikowska.
Next up for the actress - aside from inspiring all of our cosmetic dreams come June - is a starring role in the 2015 thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax, opposite Aaron Paul and Jamie Dornan.
