It’s hard work having a body like Beyoncé! The “Drunk In Love” singer took to Instagram this week to give fans a glimpse into her intense workout regime. The video, which is set to the Rocky theme Eye of the Tiger, shows the singer doing some of her best moves, including sit-ups, leg lifts, lunges and boxing punches, as she performs her body-sculpting routine.
“Celebrating the 5th anniversary of Let’s Move! #GimmeFive @michelleobama,” Beyoncé wrote as a caption to the compilation clip of her exercising.
It’s been five years since First Lady Michelle launched her Let’s Move campaign, and to celebrate she announced the #GimmeFive movement, challenging everyone to give five reasons to be healthy. Michelle got things started by asking stars to perform five physical tasks or share five ways to stay healthy – then pass on the challenge.
“I want kids, parents, maybe even a few celebrities to give me five ways to be healthy,” she said of the new initiative. “For example, they can eat five new veggies, or do five jumping jacks, or push ups, or find a way to work five new healthy habits into their daily routine.”
Michelle was clearly impressed with Beyoncé’s efforts, sharing the video with her 1.4million Instagram followers, adding, "Double tap of you’re ready to work out with Beyoncé! #GimmeFive of your workout drills (or you’ll disappoint the Beygency).”
Let’s Move was established in February 2010 to fight childhood obesity in the US by educating kids of a healthy lifestyle. The initiative stated that its mission was to solve “the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation so that children born today will reach adulthood at a healthy weight”.
