Eva Mendes isn’t ready to preach motherly advice just yet. Having given birth to her first child, daughter Esmerelda Amada, just six months ago, the stunning actress has revealed that despite her willingness to receive tips and tricks she doesn’t believe she’s “earned the right” to share any motherhood advice. The 41-year-old, who welcomed her new addition with boyfriend Ryan Gosling, said: “I don’t feel like I’ve earned that right. I want to respect all the moms out there.”
Speaking to Women’s Health magazine, Eva added: “They’re going to be like, ‘You know what? You’re a few months in. Just shut up.’”
Eva and Ryan have kept their little girl out of the spotlight, but Eva did open up on life with her daughter – telling the magazine that she enjoys “the sleepless nights because it’s bonding with my little girl”.
In November, Eva revealed that the two had made the decision to care for their daughter without the help of a nanny, and Eva discussed her support system as she gets used to life as a mom.
“I’ve had the same girlfriends since I was 12, and I’ve made amazing girlfriends since,” she shared. “My mom and my two older sisters have always been there telling me I could accomplish anything. We have each other’s backs in the best way.”
The pair are one of the discreet couples in Hollywood, and Eva admitted: “I believe there is a public self and a private self.” The dashing couple made a rare outing last week to celebrate the stunning new mom’s 41st birthday.
Ryan hired a local roller rink in a suburb of LA, which according to reports was decked out with large Hello Kitty and Happy Birthday balloons. Afterwards, guests could be seen leaving clutching decorations and birthday presents which were loaded into vehicles.
Their daughter was the guest of honour, arriving with a blanket draped over the baby carrier so their little bundle wouldn’t be snapped by the paparazzi.
