Celebrities can afford just about anything they want, from private jets to elaborate wardrobes, but even with the biggest of bankrolls many an A-lister opt to keep their beauty routine simple. Some even go so far as to create treatments for themselves, ones you can replicate in your own kitchen.
Actress, mother-of-two and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow regularly discusses the benefits of all-natural products on her site Goop. She’s even admitted to slathering her face in a mixture of oil and manuka honey. Celeb facialist Joanna Vargas told New York Daily News the mixture is, “a natural cure for anything from acne to a cut on the leg.” Scarlett Johansson is also a fan of the artisanal honey produced in Australia and New Zealand.
Then there’s the poshest of all famous faces, Victoria Beckham. The 41-year-old swears by an avocado mask to keep her skin wrinkle-free, hydrated and smooth. Right before she goes to bed, she mixes the green fruit with a fresh apricot. Because both are rich in antioxidants, the treatment is believed to purify and brighten skin. Even Kim Kardashian has become a devotee of the kitchen-made treatment.
Other famous faces who have developed beauty rituals based on ingredients they’ve found in their pantry include Cate Blanchett, Blake Lively, Zooey Deschanel and Miranda Kerr. Wondering which recipe to concoct and test on yourself? We’ve done some research and found eight fabulous and fruitful options from some of our favourite actresses.
