Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena have topped off their incredible year by announcing the birth of their first child. The 2014 Wimbledon champion is now the proud father of a baby boy named Stefan.

Novak announced the happy news on his Facebook page, writing, "Stefan, our baby angel was born! I am so proud of my beautiful wife Jelena. Thank you so much for your love and support. We love you all!!!"

The arrival of little Stefan follows the couple's magical wedding featured exclusively in HELLO! magazine.

Novak and Jelena – who met as teenagers in school – wed in the grounds of Montenegro's Aman Sveti Stefan resort.

Novak said the arrival of his bride – dressed in an exquisite gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen – took his breath away. "Seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress, smiling and walking towards me… She looked like an angel," Novak told HELLO! "I was trying to be present in that moment and memorise it. I was focused on her, and her smile, and our baby.

It really was a perfect moment."

The wedding took place just days after the tennis ace won Wimbledon in a thrilling final against Roger Federer, watched by Prince William and Kate.

Their current glitzy lifestyle is long way from 27-year-old Novak's humble beginnings in Belgrade when the player sometimes practised in an empty swimming pool. He was scared to be on open court during the bombing of the city amid the Kosovo War of 1999. When Jelena moved to Milan to study management at a prestigious university, the young lovers somehow kept their relationship going. Now, of course, he is World number one with million dollar earnings. What has never changed, though, is the couple's devotion to each other and their commitment to helping others through Novak's foundation, which Jelena runs.
