Justin Bieber releases ‘Heartbreaker’

Justin Bieber is continuing his bid for world music domination with the release of his new track "Heartbreaker.”

Debuted as the first part of his "Music Monday" series, the song is already number one on iTunes in more than 54 countries -- including Canada -- despite having spent less than 24 hours on the charts.

The R&B-tinged track shows a more grownup side to the 19-year-old pop star as he soulfully negotiates lost love through brooding lyrics like:

"Don’t tell me you’re my heartbreaker / 'Cause girl my heart’s breaking.”

And: "I still believe in us / I still believe in love."

Alluding to his highly-publicized breakup with Selena Gomez last year, the teen pop sensation has described "Heartbreaker" as "a song for people going through heartbreak -- like I was when I wrote it.”

"It means so much to me to be able to share what I was, and still am, going through, with my fans," he said.

The singer also promises more music to come, having announced the release a new song each week for 10 weeks.

"Each week the songs get better," Justin said via his Twitter account, adding, "maybe u [sic] might get lucky with two songs in a week."
