Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger release duet

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have officially released their first duet together!

The track, titled "Let Me Go," is off Avril's upcoming album, which is slated for release in November.

One listen reveals the undeniable collaborative effort between husband and wife, with Nickelback’s power-acoustic, rock-anthem sound at the forefront of the tune.

And although the newlyweds croon sadly about breaking up with lyrics like, "I'm breaking free from these memories / Gotta let it go, just let it go / I've said goodbye," Avril and Chad are still undeniably enamoured with one another. In fact, the Canadian power couple wrote the song together last year as their love blossomed in the studio.

As a result, Avril recently revealed that she and Chad had changed the love-lost lyrics of "Let Me Go" to reflect their relationship.

"We rewrote the last chorus to put a twist on it so we end up together," Avril said. "Therefore, the message of the song is more the journey of love through one's life."

The duet was released the very same day the 29-year-old native of Napanee, Ont., won Best Global Singer at the Huadang awards in Macau.
