Simple Plan, Kardinall Offishall will perform at star-studded ONEXONE concert to end hunger

An array of Canadian stars — including band Simple Plan, rapper Kardinall Offishall, singer Alyssa Reid and reggae-pop band MAGIC! — are joining forces to fight against child hunger.

Produced by Live Nation, the musicians will perform at a star-studded gala in Toronto next month with all the proceeds benefitting ONEXONE and Simple Plan Foundations – two non-profits that help feed children in need across North America.

It's more than just a concert, however. The event, which is being dubbed as “The Inaugural Million Meals Movement,” hopes to kick-start an initiative of packing one million nutritious meals for needy kids before rolling out the red carpet for the evening’s glitzy festivities.

“It’s time we bring the discussion of food insecurity in Canada to the forefront,” said Joey Adler, Founder and Chair of ONEXONE, in a statement. “The idea of not having a meal to eat is a very serious reality for many Canadian families. There is no reason why hunger should exist."

The Inaugural Million Meals Movement takes place on Friday, May 23 at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. Tickets start at just $49.50 (Get yours here).
