Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple sings on Coldplay track ‘Always in My Head’

Newly separated Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has turned making music into a family affair.

The band’s upcoming release, Ghost Stories, features vocals by his daughter with Gwyneth Paltrow, 9-year-old Apple Martin, on the album’s lead track, "Always in My Head."

The brand new song, which was leaked via Soundcloud, is about "togetherness through life's challenges," Chris said in a BBC Radio 1 interview. It marries the soulful singer’s vocals with his daughter’s novice backup harmonies. The song has since been scrubbed from the music streaming service.

The UK band’s sixth album will also feature piano by Avicii on "A Sky Full of Stars," keyboards from Bloc Party producer Paul Epworth on "Magic" and bass drum by producer Timbaland on "True Love."

Chris opened up about his recent “conscious uncoupling” from Gwyneth Paltrow in the same interview: “What changed for me was - I don’t want to go through life being scared of it, being scared of love, being scared of rejection, being scared of failure.”

Ghost Stories has its North American release on May 19.
