Cracking an iPhone is hardly ever considered a good thing – unless you're Rihanna, evidently.
The 26-year-old singer was taking a selfie with Steve Soboroff, the president of the Los Angeles Police Department, at a basketball game this week when she accidentally dropped the phone on the hardwood court, cracking its screen.

Feeling guilty over her slippery faux-pas, the classy songstress promptly apologized to Steve via Twitter (“Sorry I broke your phone @SteveSoboroff :),” she wrote, and donated $25,000 to a charity fund for the police officers.

But the good news didn’t end there. The Barbadian beauty also agreed to sign the defective mobile so it could be sold for auction on eBay.

The auction officially closed on Thursday afternoon and the cracked iPhone – which is signed, "Sorry! I ♥ LAPD. Rihanna" – has sold to one lucky bidder for $65,500.

The money raised from the program will benefit two LAPD-supported charities, the Cadet program and the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation, which supports the families of fallen officers.
