Lauryn Hill, Usher and Jhené Aiko make Drake’s OVO Fest 2014 a family affair

OVO Fest is a testament to just how muchDrake loves Toronto - or “The Six,” as he’s recently dubbed his hometown.

Each summer, Drake brings a gaggle of surprise guests to his annual festival, sparking loads of speculation in the lead up each year. In 2014, the superstar list included Lauryn Hill, Usher, 50 Cent, DJ Khaled, Jhené Aiko, Trey Songs, G-Unit and more.

Even Drake’s mom got in on the celebration, joining her son on stage in a wheelchair following Lauryn’s opening set. The twosome shared a hug and officially launched the fifth annual event with a scattered speech.

We gotta rehearse that s—t,” Drake said to his mother after the goofy delivery.

While performances by the rapper and his accompanying A-listers were the main event, Drake used the opportunity to reportedly hint at a new album, which he’ll be producing in Toronto later this year.
