Avril Lavigne celebrates her 30th birthday in Las Vegas without husband Chad Kroeger

Avril Lavigne rang in her 30th birthday in true celebrity style over the weekend, throwing a lavish, Las Vegas bash at the Bellagio Hotel’s Bank nightclub.

With sister-in-law Amie Lavigne and best friend Caryn Alpert by her side, the Canadian singer appeared to be having a ball as she blew out the candles on her gigantic, cupcake-shaped birthday cake during the milestone fête (Sept. 27).

The pop-punk star dressed elegantly for the occasion, opting for a magenta cocktail dress and nude pumps. She completed the feminine look by sweeping her blond tresses to one side in a curled, retro style and keeping her black eyeliner to a minimum.

Noticeably absent from her finger was her enormous, 14-carat engagement ring, as well as her wedding band. She also chose not to wear the 17-carat diamond sparkler that was gifted to her by her husband, Chad Kroeger, as a one-year anniversary present.

Instead, the “Hello Kitty” singer swapped in her diamonds for a solitaire pearl on her ring finger to match her pearl bracelets.

Chad, 39, was not in attendance for his wife’s birthday. Rumours over the state of the couple's marriage have been swirling as of late, with sources claiming that the pair are set to divorce after just one year of matrimony. Neither Avril nor Chad have confirmed the reports.

The Canadian couple, whose July 1, 2013 wedding was covered exclusively by Hello!, say they have rules they both abide by to keep their romance on track.

“We don’t go more than two weeks without seeing each other," Avril said in a joint interview with her hubby last year. The Nickelback frontman added: “And we don’t drink when we’re apart.”

The couple said that putting themselves in a position of temptation was something they were not willing to do as they value their union too much.

We don’t want to go anywhere that you’re asking for trouble,” Chad added. “This is something that we want to cherish and protect.”
