Drake surpasses The Beatles with 72 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart

Drake’s star just keeps rising.

The rapper's OVO label has a new star called iLoveMakonnen, whose single, “Tuesday,” debuted at the 90th spot on the Hot 100 chart.

Because Drake is a featured artist on the track, he now has 72 singles that have appeared in the top 100, allowing him to inch past The Beatles, who rest at 71 chart-toppers.

The Toronto native and Raptors ambassador now holds the eighth spot of all time, behind Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Jay Z, James Brown, Lil Wayne and the cast of Glee.

Jay Z has a slight edge on Drake with 82 hits, but Glee is the frontrunner with a whopping 207 singles on the Hot 100 chart.

Other artists on the OVO label include Drake himself, PartyNextDoor and Majid Jordan.
