Canadian band Walk off the Earth's 'Shake It Off' cover goes viral

Canadian band Walk off the Earth is at it again, causing an Internet sensation with their unique covers of popular songs. Two years ago they took the web by storm with their version of Gotye’s Somebody I Used to Know, and now their laid-back interpretation of Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” has gone viral.

While the pop superstar’s video is upbeat and features everything from dancing swans to hip-hop moves, the Burlington, Ont. band’s rendition is decidedly more subdued.

Their beachside short comes complete with a sunset, ukuleles and shakers. It’s almost as though they fled the cold-weather trappings of Canada for asimple, sun-drenched life in the Caribbean.

The group is admittedly thrilled with the attention they’re receiving. They recently posted this on Facebook: “We’re overwhelmed with all the amazing feedback we’ve received on this video. Thanks a ton for sharing this peeps!! It’s inspiring us to make more music asap.”
