Kristen Bell rings in modern holidays with ‘Text Me Merry Christmas’ song

Actress Kristen Bell has teamed up with a cappella group Straight No Chaser to record a new Christmas song – about texting.

A holiday tune for the modern generation, “Text Me Merry Christmas” trots out the benefits of texting a loved one (emojis included) during the holiday season. The cheery jingle debuted on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this week.

"This holiday you'll be far away / And I'll be all alone / So please remember this December / To fully charge your phone," sings Kristen.

The song comes replete with a lyrics music video, which is, of course, in the form of a text-message conversation.

The mother to daughter Lincoln and wife to Dax Shepard has lent her voice to musical projects in the past, including Disney’s Frozen, in which she voiced Elsa and sang one of the film's hit songs, "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?"
