Celine Dion’s loving Father’s Day tribute to husband René

Celine Dion marked Father's Day by sharing a special message to loving husband René Angélil, along with personal photos of their three beautiful children – 14-year-old René Charles and twins Eddy and Nelson, 4 – posing with dad. The couple celebrated the occasion in private as René is currently undergoing treatment for cancer at a hospital outside Boston.

“René, you are the best father a child could ever dream to have,” writes Celine. “And you are the best husband a woman could hope to share her life with.” The Angélil-Dion family have been addressing Rene’s health issues since last summer, when Celine announced she would be taking an indefinite break from her Las Vegas residency to care for her ailing partner. In May, the 'Most Beautiful' songstress delighted fans when she revealed that she would be returning to the stage on August 27. “It was René’s wish that I come back,” she said in a statement. “While my family will always be my priority, my fans are just as important to me. I look forward to performing again for all of you and more importantly having René there with me.”

Celine left her husband’s bedside earlier this month to fulfill a promise to sing with Andrea Bocelli at the 19th Annual Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas. There she told the crowd that even though the reality of René’s battle is hard, “we have the ticket to live today. We’re alive and we’re going to go for it.”

Becoming a father again (René has three adult children from his first marriage) in 2001 was life-changing for René, who told Hello! Canada in 2010 that, “When they made me cut the cord, it was a miracle. I understood what a miracle is. Instantly I would have died for him. I love him so much, it’s incredible.” He was just as elated after the safe arrival of his twin boys on October 23, 2010.

In the latest set of snaps shared by Celine, Nelson and Eddy are pictured in the warm embrace of their father while René Charles enjoys a day on the water with his dad. The singer and her kids signed off their tribute with a word of thanks, adding, “You teach us courage, determination, and integrity. We love you so much, more and more every day.”
